Why doesn't that seem to apply here?

Futhermore, we all know that record companies have spent years pillaging artists for every dollar (the names of bankrupt artists is along one). Record execs have exceled in exaggerating the truths of their financial damages and blame the college kid downloading mp3's.

Point blank - they lie. If they'd be fair with how artists are compensated from the start, they wouldn't be crying the blues right now when users have found a way to bypass them.

Ideally the world can do without them. But they've stonglholded a lot of retailers into doing business with them or else.

It's a joke and their pathetic attempts at justifying how they rip off artists and ultimately the end consumer is a testament to the word "thief".

I'm surprised that they can even sleep at night knowing that the hot air blowing our way it total fluff.

Wherever there is an artist, a talent or creative person around, you can be rest assured, there's a record industry person (no talent), just waiting in line to capitalize and rob someone else of their deserved money (and then blame the consumers).

CRIA are setting themselves up for an even larger problem from end users..cause they'll just irk people the wrong way.

You want to know how Metallica got paid by me.. I rented their movie, went to 2 of there concerts ($100 +). Consider Lars Ulrich -- paid.

Don't buckle under the pressure Howard.. all eyes on you man. :)

/Cheers...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20803105.post-1145032484419844012006-04-14T12:34:00.000-04:002006-04-14T12:34:00.000-04:00Is there a list of all the CRIA members? There is a disconnect between what we all know and what the MPs know, and we need to do everything we can to educate them.

If you want, there is a sample letter at http://digital-copyright.ca which you can just sendRussell McOrmondhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07186398284667525036noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20803105.post-1145008079183937072006-04-14T05:47:00.000-04:002006-04-14T05:47:00.000-04:00Finally the haze around the digital distortion fie...Finally the haze around the digital distortion field generated by the so called recording industry is being blown away like so much dust by these real recording lables!

Now we begin to see a small glimmer of reality through the fog. The CRIA represents no creators, no song writers and no composers. These Multinational entities become what ever kind of company best suits their needs at the moment. In reality they are a kind of vertical monopoly, controling every aspect of the industry from the bottom almost, but not quite to the retail end.

They have shown the utmost of disdain and disregard for their own customers. The Sony Root Kit is only the latest installment. I have watched this attitude as long as I worked in the retail end of the industry and then again when I was in broadcasting.

They ought *NOT* to be allowed to write our Canadian Copyright laws. Further, we should not feel obliged to impliment the WIPO proposals. They are just that, proposals. our lawmakers should be listening to the public and not to this completely self-interested loby group.

What these four lables have shown us is that there is a strong Canadian Recording Industry which can and does operate outside of the sphere of influence of this multinational loby.recordjackethistorianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06431571179485586897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20803105.post-1144974435703410232006-04-13T20:27:00.000-04:002006-04-13T20:27:00.000-04:00CRIA doesn't appear to have a trademark registered...CRIA doesn't appear to have a trademark registered for it's name. However, perhaps including "Canadian" in its name at all should amount to a mispresentation to the public, a deceptive practice etc!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
