If people were prepared to pay so much to see and hear the great man, then morally the greedy corporates are taking money from him - although I suspect that the people who pay that sort of money are also the sort of people who pay no attention to the performer and probably spoil it for the real fans by talking throughout. My solution - which is just slightly self-denying - is not to buy tickets other than at face value - here in England they add a "booking fee", but what else is buying a ticket other than booking a place? The only solution is surely to ban the resale of tickets altogether: anyone who diensn't need a tocket they bought should return it to the venue to sell to someone else.Peter Groveshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05020506617934637856noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20803105.post-49733409535729558462009-03-05T15:37:00.000-05:002009-03-05T15:37:00.000-05:00Dear 3:15You are assuming that the virtually immed...Dear 3:15

You are assuming that the virtually immediate (in this case) resale market reflects what should have or could have been the pricing for the primary market. The reported information in the media strongly suggests otherwise, especially if there never was a real “primary market” open the general public and if other steps were taken to “enhance unreasonably the price”.

One has to assume that Cohen's managers and the venues would base their pricing decisions on a an efficient, arms length and legally functioning market.Howard Knopfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18321190334597129416noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20803105.post-68034720933218711362009-03-05T15:27:00.000-05:002009-03-05T15:27:00.000-05:00FYI AmericanExpress is holding hostage all the tic...FYI AmericanExpress is holding hostage all the tickets for days and days before they go on sale to the public.
